News: City Of Atlanta TIA Local Projects - LOTS For Bicyclists
Ever wished that you could ride safely down DeKalb Ave to get all the way to Downtown or Decatur? Have you dared to dream about bike lanes on Howell Mill Road or a multiuse path on Northside Drive? If yes, well your dreams may come true of the Transportation Investment Act passes on July 31st.
The City of Atlanta released their plans for how they are going to their discretionary cut of the TIA pie and there are lots of projects in this list for bicyclists and pedestrians (so everybody) to salivate over. See below for the entire list.
You can give your feedback on the projects by e-mail at tiacomments@atlantaga.gov or by phone at 404-330-6145 by June 19, 2012 at 5:00pm. One question on our minds is what is the definition of “bicycle facility” and “complete street”? We would like for “bicycle facility” to mean no less than a bike lane. Some bicycle projects in the list are defined more clearly than others. See below for the full project list.
