News: CDC Bike Trains

Put on your helmet, pump up your tires, and find a bike train near you!

Join a CDC Bike Train on Thursday August 18, 2011

CDC, in partnership with the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, is organizing Quarterly Bike Train Days around Atlanta to encourage and facilitate bicycling to work. The next Bike Train Day will be on August 18, 2011. Bike trains, which are coordinated group rides on a pre-planned route, provide a great opportunity for people to commute to work together by bicycle, increasing safety, security, and enjoyment of the ride.

If you have ever considered trying a bike commute, joining a Bike Train might be the answer. Friendly ride hosts will lead the ride, and you can meet other cyclists who live or work near you. Whether you are an occasional weekend rider or a daily commuter, you are welcome to join a bike train. Put on your helmet, pump up your tires, and find a bike train near you!

Participants should be comfortable riding a bicycle in the street with motor vehicle traffic. Some of the routes are longer and/or hillier than others. Please see the descriptions and the route maps to determine if the Bike Train is right for you.

The following bike trains are being hosted by CDC personnel for this quarter’s Bike Train Day on August 18th. For more information or to arrange to ride with one of these groups, please contact the appropriate ride host.
